Blue Moon Fabrics, Inc. ("Blue Moon Fabrics," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at bluemoonfabrics.com and its regional storefronts, and our retail store at 933 Maple Avenue in the Los Angeles Fashion District. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have.
It applies to our website, our retail store, and our customer service interactions. It does not apply to third-party websites we link to.

Blue Moon Fabrics, Inc. is the business responsible for the personal information described in this policy.
2. Personal information we collect
Identifiers. Name, email address, postal address, phone number, account username, IP address, and device or browser identifiers including cookie IDs.
Customer records and commercial information. Billing and shipping addresses, order history, products and fabrics viewed or purchased, cart contents, swatch and colour card requests, returns and claims, rewards programme activity, and payment information. Payment card numbers are handled by our payment processors and are not stored by Blue Moon Fabrics.
Internet and network activity. Pages and products viewed, search terms entered on our site, referring website, time and duration of visits, clicks, and interactions with our emails and text messages.
Approximate location. Derived from your IP address, used for currency, shipping, tax, regional content, and to determine which privacy choices to offer you.
Audio and visual information. Photographs or video you submit to us, such as images attached to a product review.
Inferences. Fabric, colour, and project preferences drawn from your browsing and purchase history, used to recommend products and tailor marketing.
We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law for the purpose of inferring characteristics about you. We do not knowingly collect government identifiers, precise geolocation, racial or ethnic origin, religious beliefs, health information, or biometric data.
3. Where the information comes from
Directly from you — when you place an order, create an account, join our rewards programme, sign up for email or text messages, request swatches, write a review, contact customer service, or shop in our store.
Automatically from your device as you use our website, through cookies, pixels, and log files.
From our service providers, including our e-commerce platform, payment processors, shipping carriers, and review platforms.
4. Why we use it
- Processing, fulfilling, and shipping your orders, and handling returns and claims
- Cutting and preparing fabric to your specifications
- Creating and maintaining your account and rewards membership
- Communicating with you about orders, back-in-stock items, and support requests
- Sending marketing emails and text messages where you have signed up, and letting you unsubscribe at any time
- Showing you relevant advertising on other websites and platforms
- Understanding how customers use our site so we can improve it
- Detecting and preventing fraud, and keeping our site secure
- Meeting our legal, tax, and accounting obligations
5. Who we share it with

We require our service providers to use personal information only to provide services to us, and not for their own purposes.
6. How long we keep it
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes described in this policy, or for as long as the law requires. In practice that means:
- Order and transaction records: seven years from the date of the order, to meet tax, accounting, and warranty obligations
- Customer account information: for as long as your account remains open. If you ask us to close or delete your account, we remove it, keeping only what we are required to retain for completed orders
- Marketing contact information: for as long as you are subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we keep a minimal suppression record — your email address or phone number only — so that we do not contact you again by mistake. If you ask us to delete your information entirely, we remove you from the suppression list as well
- Website analytics and advertising identifiers: up to fourteen months, in line with our analytics providers' standard retention settings
- Customer service correspondence: three years from your last contact with us
- Consent and privacy request records: for as long as needed to demonstrate that we honoured your choices
Where we no longer need information, we delete it or de-identify it. Where deletion is not immediately possible — for example, in routine backups — we isolate the information and delete it when those systems are next refreshed.
7. Selling and sharing your information
Under California law, our use of advertising cookies and pixels to show you ads on other websites may be considered a "sale" or "sharing" of personal information, even though we do not receive money for it.
We share the following for cross-context behavioural advertising: identifiers, including cookie IDs and IP address, and internet activity information, with Google, Meta, and Microsoft.
We do not sell your personal information for money.
We do not sell or share the personal information of consumers we know to be under 16 years of age.
You can opt out at any time using our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or by enabling Global Privacy Control in your browser. See Section 8.
8. Cookies, tracking, and your choices
We use cookies and similar technologies — pixels, tags, and log files — to operate our site, remember your cart, understand how the site is used, and deliver advertising.
Cookie banner. Visitors are shown a cookie banner allowing them to accept or decline non-essential cookies. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, advertising and analytics technologies do not load at all until you accept. In California and other US states, you may decline at any time and we will stop them. You can change your preferences whenever you like using the cookie preferences control on our site.
Global Privacy Control. We treat the Global Privacy Control (GPC) opt-out preference signal as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for the browser and device sending it. If you visit our site with GPC enabled, we process it automatically and you do not need to take any further action.
Do Not Track. Our site does not respond to legacy "Do Not Track" browser signals, because no common standard for them has been adopted. This is separate from Global Privacy Control, which we do honour as described above.
9. Your California privacy rights
If you are a California resident, you have the right to:
- Know what personal information we collect, use, disclose, and share, including the specific pieces we hold about you
- Delete the personal information we have collected from you, subject to legal exceptions
- Correct inaccurate personal information we hold about you
- Opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising
- Limit the use of sensitive personal information — note that we do not use sensitive personal information for purposes requiring this right
- Non-discrimination — we will not deny you goods or services, charge you a different price, or provide a lesser quality of service because you exercised any of these rights
How to exercise your rights:
- Opt out of sale or sharing: use our Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page, or enable Global Privacy Control in your browser
- All other requests: use our Privacy Rights Request page, email info@bluemoonfabrics.com with "Privacy Request" in the subject line, or call (213) 892-0401
Verification. To protect your information, we will ask you to verify your identity before fulfilling a request to know, delete, or correct — usually by confirming details associated with your account or a recent order. We will respond within 45 days, and will tell you before that period ends if we need up to 45 additional days.
Authorized agents. You may designate an authorized agent to make a request on your behalf. We will require written proof of authorization and may verify your identity with you directly.
10. Rights of residents of other US states
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, and other states with comprehensive privacy laws have similar rights to access, correct, delete, and opt out of targeted advertising, and to appeal a denied request. Use the same methods described in Section 9. If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to our response, and we will inform you of your right to contact your state Attorney General.
11. If you are in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, or Switzerland
You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal information, to withdraw consent at any time, and to data portability.
We process your information to perform our contract with you when fulfilling orders, on the basis of your consent for marketing and non-essential cookies, and for our legitimate interests in improving and securing our site.
Your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States and Canada. You may lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
12. Text messaging
If you sign up for our text messaging programme, we use your phone number and consent record to send order notifications, back-in-stock alerts, cart reminders, marketing offers, and review requests.
Opt-in data and consent for text messaging are not shared with any third party except our messaging providers, for the sole purpose of operating the programme.
Our website uses cookies to track items placed in your cart, including abandoned carts, which is how we determine when to send cart reminder messages.
Reply STOP to any message to unsubscribe, or HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply.
13. Children
Our website is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
14. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect personal information, including encryption in transit and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. We will post the revised policy on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Where changes are material, we will provide notice on our website and, where required, ask for renewed consent.
